Who would have thought that the American Idol champ is into cracking jokes?? David Cook seemed to be a quiet guy on the eight season of AI. Also, if he’d been a joker then, the judges might have held it against him. David Cook says, “Right, right, Simon [Cowell] and I don’t really share the same sense of humor.” LOL! I doubt the Brit judge even know what “humor” is! o_O He further adds,

“There’s so much stress associated with being in that competition, it’s hard to really crack a joke.. You don’t want to step on Ryan’s [Seacrest] toes or anything.”

If you wanna catch David Cook making jokes, watch his upcoming shows and concerts. In a recent gig, performing live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for ABC’s “Good Morning America,” a fan told David he looked tired, the singer joked, “Dude, I’m out of it. I’m delirious.” Hehe! He tells a writer-witness about it, “I usually tell bad jokes, so today was one of my better days.”

Duhh! What else would anyone expect if the town hero stages a show in his own town?? So yeah, forget about getting tickets to David Cook’s national concert tour appearance in Kansas City this April 22. According to reports, tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Monday and all 1,300 seats in the Pavilion show room at Ameristar Kansas City Casino and Hotel sold out in six minutes. Casino spokeswoman Roxann Kinkade said,

“We feel terrible. We’ve very, very sorry. We wish everyone could have gotten to see David Cook.”

Well, they can.. IF they have the money to pay the effin scalpers who most probably caused the tickets to sold out blindingly fast. Ms. Kinkade further said, “There was so much media attention. This is his hometown. We knew it was going to be bad.” Online tickets for David Cook’s show were priced between $55 and $80, and Kinkade said all buyers were limited to six tickets per order.

Previously we posted that the American Idol alumnus is touring US — and mostly in colleges! So why there and not in big auditoriums? Well, David Cook shared that he was keen to get back to his roots and promote the tradition of college tours. He said,

“There’s something inherently nostalgic about playing college shows. So many amazing acts used to do it, so it’s nice to be able to bring that ideal back, in some small way.”

David Cook further added, “Besides, touring on a bus beats what we used to do, which was cram five guys into a 7 passenger van for one show, 13 hours away.” The platinum recording artist also said the inspiration behind the tour is superstar Irish rock band U2, whom he saw perform at the Super Bowl in 2002. David Cook shared, “It was just very poignant. Not overdone, but definitely powerful.”

The “American Idol” handsome champ just announced his U.S. tour last Friday which will take him to colleges around the nation. That would surely excite David Cook’s college girl fans! According to AOL music Web site www.PopEater.com, his 37-date tour will begin on February 13 at Florida State University in Tallahassee and end on April 25 at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.

Most of David Cook’s concerts will take place at colleges, including the University of Mississippi and the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. The AI alumna will also play at Seneca Niagara Casino in New York State and Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, Missouri. The self-titled debut album of David Cook came out in November and won the No. 3 spot on the Billboard charts. It is at No. 10 on the last week og January.

FOX will be having David Cook live on New Years Eve, as the Texas born American Idol 7 winner will perform live from The Mirage in Las Vegas. This will be hosted by talkshow host Spike Feresten, and Mark Thompson who is the co-host of Hole In The Wall, a reality game show. It will also feature a count down to welcome 2009, with other celebrity guests and musical performances.
