David Cook is one of People Magazine’s hottest bachelors and he told People that he is not as confident off-stage as he is performing. He is the top 3 among other bachelors.

“Looking a pretty woman in the eye and convincing her I’m worth taking a chance on takes a specific brand of guts, and it’s not the kind I have,” he said.

Continuing a yearly American Idol tradition, David Cook will perform the national anthem at Game 3 of the NBA Finals. For the last couple years, the American Idol winner has sang the national anthem at one of the June NBA Finals games. Game 3 between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers will take place on Tuesday, June 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. You can tune in at 9pm ET/6pm PT for the game. Chances are you will be anyway; the Lakers/Celtics finals is expected to be the highest rated NBA Finals in years.

Everyone knew that its because of David Cook’s brother Andrew that he got into American Idol.  For now, Andrew Cook never tired of hearing “David Cook’s little brother”.  What David is now was his dream before and he’s happy for his brother.

“It’s not going to hurt if someone says ‘Oh, it’s David Cook’s brother’ because it’s just a fact,” he said. “I’m David Cook’s brother. There’s no getting around that.”

“Right now, I’m in the writing process,” he said. “And I have one of my brother’s friend from an old band of his who’s helping me write some songs too.”

“I play air drums and air guitar because I am instrumentally declined,” he said.

“A lot of David’s fans have turned their ears towards my music, and they’ve been just as supporting,” he said.

“I just want to do what David did and play around town,” he said.

David Cook was being compared with Chris Daughtry in terms of performance.  Nigel Lythgoe, American Idol producer told OK! Magazine that David Cook could be as big as Daughtry only if he gets some personality.  He thinks:

“enormous for a long time”

“He can certainly sing – and I’d like to see a bit more personality when he’s singing,” he said.

“And that was the only thing that I think our finalists lacked a little bit this year, was more charisma.”
