David Cook was currently on American Idol Tour and while on the road, he was interviewed by OK Magazine and he’s talking about his family and life on the road.

“This is our way of saying thank you to everybody that voted - it’s one big love fest. Plus, I’m excited to experience parts of the country that I’ve never seen before.” On life on the road he added, “There is something romantic about waking up in a different city every day. There’s a cool synergy within the group, and we’re really supportive of each other - we got lucky.”

“Obviously, my family is really important to me, so I’m going to try and get them out to as many shows as possible. But they’re only a phone call away. Whenever I feel like I need to get my ego in check, that’s who I’ll call.”

On his new look, “I got my hair cut, for starters, and I grew the beard. The show was stressful, and I’ve dropped about 15 pounds since it all began. It’s been a physical overhaul for me.” And it is busy, David jokes, “I never have downtime to watch TV and eat a box of Cheez-It’s,” says David of being on tour.
