FOX will be having David Cook live on New Years Eve, as the Texas born American Idol 7 winner will perform live from The Mirage in Las Vegas. This will be hosted by talkshow host Spike Feresten, and Mark Thompson who is the co-host of Hole In The Wall, a reality game show. It will also feature a count down to welcome 2009, with other celebrity guests and musical performances.

“I bought this camera for the sole purpose of documenting what I’m expecting to be the coolest summer of my life,” Cook announces, before having the house lights turned up and turning his lens on the audience and giving a shout-out to newly married Ruben Studdard. Then what bedeviled Brooke befalls Cookie: “I lost an ear (monitor) but I’ll keep it out.”

He grows grateful — “We are just 10 people who got crazy lucky” –- and sings about how he’s having the Time of My Life –- for more poignant reasons than music superstardom, it turns out. “I got great news today,” he says. “My brother’s tumor has stopped growing!” Wild cheers. “Thank you, guys, from the bottom of my heart.” He dedicates the Foo Fighters’ My Hero to his brother. “How loud can you guys get?” Very loud, it turns out.

Johnny Rzeznik, the Goo Goo Dolls frontman wanted to collaborate with David Cook on some songs. Johnny who wrote “Iris” said that:

“‘Cause he’s real, he plays the guitar, he’s got a cool voice, he seems like a regular guy, so…why not?”

So hopefully this plan will put into action and it will be an amazing opportunity for David. Let’s wait for that guys, I like Johnny as well and love that song, so with David it will gonna hit the charts!

Aol.com posted that Jeff Archuleta may have gotten a bad rep for micromanaging his son, American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, but Idol winner David Cook doesn’t see it that way.

“I’ve never seen Jeff be anything but a caring, loving father, so for me it’s much ado about nothing,” Cook, 25, told PEOPLE on Saturday.

In fact, Cook looks forward to David’s dad joining them on the bus for this summer’s American Idols Live! tour that kicks off July 1 in Glendale, Ariz., and runs to Sept. 13. Cook says he will be working on a record at the same time as the tour “So I’ve got a busy summer,” he says.
