David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell has been an item recently after David announced it in “Live with Regis and Kelly” that he is dating Kimberly. Everyone knew that its because of David Cook’s brother Andrew that he got into American Idol.  For now, Andrew Cook never tired of hearing “David Cook’s little brother”.  What David is now was his dream before and he’s happy for his brother.

“It’s not going to hurt if someone says ‘Oh, it’s David Cook’s brother’ because it’s just a fact,” he said. “I’m David Cook’s brother. There’s no getting around that.”

“Right now, I’m in the writing process,” he said. “And I have one of my brother’s friend from an old band of his who’s helping me write some songs too.”

“I play air drums and air guitar because I am instrumentally declined,” he said.

“A lot of David’s fans have turned their ears towards my music, and they’ve been just as supporting,” he said.

“I just want to do what David did and play around town,” he said.

David Cook was being compared with Chris Daughtry in terms of performance.  Nigel Lythgoe, American Idol producer told OK! Magazine that David Cook could be as big as Daughtry only if he gets some personality.  He thinks:

“enormous for a long time”

“He can certainly sing – and I’d like to see a bit more personality when he’s singing,” he said.

“And that was the only thing that I think our finalists lacked a little bit this year, was more charisma.”

David Cook told The Associated Press before appearing in Today’s Show that he ignores dating rules of waiting 3 days after a date.

“I don’t really believe in any sort of theories.”

“I just kind of call when I call.”

David Cook had a dinner with Kimberly Caldwell and said that he had a good time and will probably hang out again with her.

“Great girl, we hung out and we’ll see what happens.”

David was a big Dodgers fan while Kimberly sang the national anthem and then watched the game with him.
