Fresh from his concert with David Archuleta in the Philippines, the American Idol 7 champ will go perform on Wednesday night’s two-hour finale of America’s most popular show. According to reports, David Cook, the Black Eyed Peas, Queen Latifah, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana and Cyndi Lauper will be performing as American Idol will crown their 8th season champion. On Tuesday night’s show, Carrie Underwood will perform this season’s farewell song, her cover of Mötley Crüe’s “Home Sweet Home.” Now isn’t this a treat?? David Cook, Carrie Underwood and slew of celebrities performing back to back in two straight nights!! Just awesome! ^_^ Last year, American Idol’s two finalists, David Cook and David Archuleta did a duet on the “Spider-Man” tune “Hero” while the other finalists had a group number. Guess we could expect the same format for the season 8 finale.

On American Idol winner David Cook’s wedding day, judge Simon Cowell won’t certainly wait with him on the aisle.

Cook, who converted his staunch critic into an adulating fan and friend, said the sharp-tongued judge might not be the best man for his wedding’s Best Man.

“If I ever get married I don’t think Simon Cowell would be my best man,” Cook said Friday morning (Manila time) in Magic 89.9’s radio show.

Idol’s season 7 winner said Cowell might just pass up on the idea of being the most important man in his wedding day.

Despite giving Cowell the thumbs down for the best man job, Cook praised the British judge for helping him become the man he is now.

Yes guys, Adam Cook is no more. And just one day after losing his older brother to brain cancer, David Cook delivered a touching address when he was grand marshal of the 12th annual Race for Hope 5K run in Washington, D.C. He said before the crowd: “I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now… I lost one today, but I gained 9,000, and I will be here every year that they will have me.” The co-chair of the charity race, Jeff Klodin told People magazine,

“David Cook is beyond the most courageous young person I have ever known. What he did this morning when he was dealing with the most raw emotion was incredible.”

Mr. Kolodin continued, “No one knew his brother had died, [and David spent the rest of the day] hugging survivors, signing autographs for them, taking pictures.” The American Idol champion had canceled a pair of concerts in March to go home and spend time with Adam. He also wrote “A DailyAntheM” in honor of his brother for his debut album. Adam Cook was a married father of 7-year-old twins. Our condolences to David Cook and his family.

We all know that the hunky singer’s brother Adam has been battling brain cancer for over a decade and he has been very supportive of him. And now, David Cook will run for him on May 3 in Washington, D.C.
According to reports, he will serve as grand marshal in the “Race for Hope 5K” which benefits brain cancer research. David Cook will also join the race as part of a team he set up – which has already raised more than $40,000. Race co-chair Jeff Kolodin told PEOPLE:

“He wants nothing from us at all. This transcends fame and money and everything else. He just wants to help the cause.”

David Cook, meanwhile, says: “The opportunity to become involved in such a worthwhile cause is paramount for me and my family. I don’t run normally, but it seems a small sacrifice compared to what those who have fought cancer have endured. And the fact that my fans have rallied to raise so much in donations is the biggest compliment.” Atta boy! Your blessings today are so well-deserve coz you have such a good heart! =)

“David Cook’s Declaration Tour,” which began February 13 will end soon on April 22! The tour, which hit college campuses across the nation, helped the American Idol champ to promote his self-titled album, which came out last November and was certified platinum in January. David Cook said in an interview about his touring life, “I’ve been very lucky. I’m still pinching myself. I’ve got a show tomorrow night. It’s hectic! But when I do get time off, I just lounge around and try to do absolutely nothing.”

Yep, David Cook’s life has definitely changed drastically! He shares, “The biggest change is when I play music now, people are listening. A year ago I was playing in Tulsa, just trying to get people’s attention. Past that, I think all the ancillary things have changed. I’m in a very different place than I was a year ago, but I don’t feel like a different person. I’ve got amazing friends and family who will knock me down several rungs on the ladder to make sure I stay level-headed.”

The latest American Idol champ is from Kansas City and in his ongoing tour, he has only one concert in Kansas. Thus, tickets to David Cook’s show in Ameristar Casino on April 22 were sold out in six minutes upon selling. That’s the bad news. An even worse news is that the casino received some reports of fake tickets being offered for sale! So be warned David Cook fans — don’t give your hard-earned money to scammers! Ameristar public relations manager Roxann Kinkade said “To my knowledge, this has been Ameristar’s most quick selling show.”

Now, Ameristar says someone has approached them who tried to buy tickets through the web site Craigslist, and never received them. Ameristar also learned that some tickets also have been offered for sale on ticket resale web sites for seats that do not exist in the pavilion. Ameristar Casino Hotel General Manager Chet Koch said,”We have no way of knowing how many of these tickets may have been purchased, but we don’t want even one guest to be surprised and disappointed on concert night if he or she discovers a ticket isn’t legitimate.” BE WARNED GUYS!
